In short: there’s no account and no sign-up, and no analytics or ads of our own. My List, reminders and settings stay on your iPhone. The Connection tab doesn’t collect, store or share what you do online. The only third party is YouTube, and only while the Trailers feed is open.
Who we are
Kün is an app by Nikolay Nikolaev, an individual developer (“we”). Questions about this policy: support.papakolya@gmail.com.
The release feed
To show releases, Kün requests the feed, the calendar, title pages and images from our server. Like any request on the internet, it carries your IP address, the app version and the iOS version. We use them only to answer and to protect the server from overload, and we don’t keep logs of these requests. Posters and stills also come from our server, so image hosts never see you.
If the configuration on the Connection tab was issued by our server, the app also sends its access key with these requests, so that the server can recognize your account. This key is never sent to any other server.
My List, reminders and settings
The titles you follow, your settings and your reminders are stored only on your iPhone. Reminders are local notifications that the app schedules on the phone itself; nothing about them is sent to us.
The Connection tab
The Connection tab connects your iPhone to a server that you add yourself — with a key, a subscription link or a QR code from that server’s administrator. Kün doesn’t provide servers. Your configuration is kept in your iPhone’s secure storage (Keychain).
Kün doesn’t collect, store or share your network activity: the sites you visit, the content of your traffic or your DNS queries. Your traffic goes from your iPhone to the server you chose. Servers — ours included — keep their own technical connection logs under their operators’ rules; the app itself sends us nothing about your traffic.
When you add or refresh a subscription link, the app requests it from the server in that link and, like other clients, sends a random identifier of this installation, your device model and your iOS version, so that the server can count your devices. If the subscription is from our server, we keep this identifier, the device model, the iOS version, the last IP address, and when the device was first and last seen, for as long as the subscription exists, so that devices can be counted and removed.
To confirm that the connection works, the app makes one request through it to our server. The server sees only the exit address of your server, replies which exit it is and doesn’t store anything.
To show each server’s delay, the app briefly connects to the servers in your configuration. Nothing is sent to us.
Trailers and YouTube
Trailers are played by the official YouTube player. While the Trailers feed is open, Google receives your IP address and information about your device, may use cookies and may show YouTube ads, under the Google Privacy Policy. We don’t receive anything from the player.
The log
Kün keeps a technical log of the connection on your iPhone. It leaves the phone only if you tap Share Log in Settings and choose where to send it.
Apple
If “Share With App Developers” is turned on in your iOS settings, Apple sends us anonymous crash reports and usage statistics. We use them only to fix bugs.
What we don’t do
We don’t sell your data, don’t use it for advertising, don’t track you across other companies’ apps and websites, and don’t pass it to anyone except as described above.
Children
We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you think a child has sent us personal information, write to us and we will delete it.
Keeping and deleting data
Everything Kün keeps on your iPhone disappears when you remove the configuration or delete the app. To delete what our server keeps about your devices, write to support.papakolya@gmail.com — we will delete it and reply.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
